CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN AT NOBLE ISLE

The Christmas countdown has begun. Ready or not, it’s time to start thinking about those time-honoured British traditions that we all hold so dear.  With Christmas cakes and puddings already in the mix, the pungent festive aromas of cinnamon and cloves begin to waft in the air, emitting the reminiscent, sensory pleasures of Christmas time. Before our homes are adorned with pine fresh Christmas trees, festive lights and berry clad holly wreaths – our thoughts turn to one thing, what to buy loved ones this year.

RHUBARB RHUBARB! – FOR BATH TIME, BEDTIME, HOMETIME, ANYTIME

As nights become crisper and we fully embrace the season of autumn, thoughts turn to our provenance partner friends at E. Oldroyd & Sons in the Yorkshire Triangle. At this time of year they’re tending to the young rhubarb crops, getting ready to coax the rhubarb roots into early bud a little later in the year, before the tender rhubarb stalks are harvested by candlelight to ensure the highest quality nutrient-rich crop.  This world class rhubarb not only finds its way into jams, cordials and crumbles but also into our signature collection – The original Rhubarb Rhubarb!

IT’S HARVEST TIME – AT NOBLE ISLE

Autumn nods, the seasons change and so comes the time to gather. It’s harvest time and our celebrated producers across the British Isles are patiently reaping an abundance of ripened fruits and crops. It’s a special time of year at Noble Isle, for we know that from simple beginnings something infinitely desirable emerges – as the skin nourishing extracts sourced to use in our products begin their next cycle of transformation.

CORNISH SUMMER RISING – PICKED AND PERFECT

With the coming of high summer, the sun has fulfilled much of its seasonal work. Down at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Cornwall, the gooseberry branches ladened with their plump, tart fruit have only just been carefully handpicked, ready to be extracted into our next batch of resplendent Summer Rising.

BATHE IN SUNSHINE WITH NOBLE ISLE

As sunshine begins to bathe our British Isles, so our green and pleasant land starts to bloom. The skin nourishing extracts we use in our products have all been sourced from celebrated producers across the British Isles and without doubt are good enough to eat! Britain’s gardens are resplendent with heritage fruit and vegetables at this time of year, which wend their way onto restaurant and kitchen plates. Thanks to Noble Isle our 5-a-day even make it into our bathrooms.

FATHER’S DAY FIT FOR A GENTLEMAN

With Father’s Day approaching on June 21st we have the perfect gift for Dad. Our Whisky & Water collection always bring a smile of intrigue and a sensory surprise.

ALL ABOARD WITH THE ORIGINAL RHUBARB RHUBARB! HAND WASH FROM NOBLE ISLE

The journey curating our quintessentially British fragrances to heighten your senses began three years ago and in that time we have visited the breadth of this Noble Isle. So to celebrate our 3rd birthday we are venturing a little further and will be taking flight.

THE PROMISE OF SUMMER TO COME

We just love this inspirational time of year at Noble Isle, as the seasons visually transition before us and the first aromas and sightings of spring begin to emerge from the earth. It reminds us that as temperatures rise so too does the season of summer. With it comes the promise of all those nectar filled blooms, ripening fruits and evocative fragrances that summer represents.

MARCH FOR LOVE OF WOMEN

Spring is almost here, there’s a floral note in the air and we have International Womens’ Day on the 8th and Mother’s Day on the 15th. It’s time to truly celebrate women and bestow gifts of luxury and love.  Share some sweet indulgence and give the Noble Isle treatment to that amazing woman who has given so much to you.

AN INTERVIEW WITH KATY SIMPSON – NOBLE ISLE’S FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

I set up Noble Isle with 3 ex colleagues; between us all we had over 50 years experience in the Luxury Bath & Body industry. It was January 2011 and the country was preparing for the royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William. Whether you were a royalist or not, everyone was looking forward to street parties, garden BBQ’s and we all got an extra day off to celebrate.

TO MY VALENTINE, LOVE NOBLE ISLE

Saint Valentine’s Day has long since been a celebration of romance. The first anonymous Valentines card was sent during the 18th century and became so popular by the early 19th century, that factories began mass producing them. Traditionally, notes of love and more recently gifts are exchanged between loved ones on the 14th February every year.

NEW BEGINNINGS

As the New Year rolls around and everyone is setting their resolutions, we’ve been planning for a busy year ahead. There are a lot of exciting ventures and happenings for Noble Isle in 2015 and we cannot wait to share the news with you.

CHRISTMAS TIME AT NOBLE ISLE

It was wonderful to meet so many Noble Isle fans at this years’ Spirit of Christmas Fair, the show was buzzing with activity and festivity. We didn’t’t stop wrapping and packing Christmas gifts from beginning to end. We would like to say a big thank you to all those who visited our pop-up shop to do their Christmas shopping and helped make the event such a success.

TOP TIPS FOR CREATING A LUXURIOUS BATHROOM

When designing your luxury bathroom, I believe in starting with one focal point and shaping the room around that. If you fall in love with a freestanding copper bath, branch out and use copper highlights through cabinet handles and lighting for example.

NOBLE ISLE TAKES FLIGHT

Christmas time at Noble Isle is always a busy affair and this year even more so! We are busy wrapping, tying and packing non-stop like Elves in the night, right up until the 22nd to make sure Christmas is made a little easier for you with tailor made gifts that just need popping under the tree.

CHRISTMAS TIME WITH NOBLE ISLE

We have officially entered the new season and as the nights become crisper, it won’t be long before our thoughts turn to Christmas. With only twelve weeks to go, we thought it was about time we introduced you to this year’s extra special Christmas gift selection from Noble Isle.

SEASONS CHANGE

As the seasons change and the night draws in, it’s time to cosy down beside a crackling fire with a dram of Whisky & Water and watch the autumn leaves fall.

HONEY BEE DAY

We owe a lot to the humble honey bee, whom has spent the last 150,000,000 years flitting between various plants, pollinating fruit and vegetables and creating the sweet golden elixir for which it’s named after: honey. Did you know? Bees fly about 55,000 miles to make just one pound of honey, that’s 1½ times around the world.

SUMMER HOLIDAY IN A BOTTLE

Summer holiday season is finally upon us and whilst the majority of us are excited by the prospect of lying beachside on a faraway island, it’s always nice to pack a little bit of home with you, wherever you go.

THE SCENTS OF SUMMER

There is something wonderful about the British Summer. From music festivals to seaside breaks, barbeques and Pimms, Britons really know how to do summer – come rain or shine! Noble Isle has taken inspiration from the four corners of the British Isles, creating distinctive fine fragrances that inject the scent of summer from bottle to bathroom. Discover Britain in a bottle.

SUMMER RISING IN THE BRITISH ISLES

In May 2012, we proudly launched Noble Isle in the British Isles. Two years on and we are growing from strength to strength. Our products are being enjoyed around the world by an increasing number of stunning hotels and retailers. We would like to thank our customers and partners for their continued enthusiasm and support.

RHUBARB RHUBARB! THE ORIGINAL

Rhubarb has been a treasured crop in Britain for hundreds of years and still remains popular today. Today you can find rhubarb all year round in shops, but this has not always been the case. During the railway age, the fruit had become such a fashionable delicacy that it commanded a dedicated train service, dubbed the Rhubarb Express, to speed it from Yorkshire to London, from where it was whisked off to European capitals.

MOTHERING SUNDAY

Mothering Sunday has long since been a British tradition, dating back to the 1600’s. Celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent, this year falling on the 30th March, it’s a day to honour our beloved mother’s and thank them for their unconditional love and support.  The tradition has since spread across the world and is now celebrated in 46 different countries (though on seperate dates).

NOBLE ISLE AT THE EE BRITISH ACADEMY FILM AWARDS

With the EE British Academy Film Awards fast approaching we are busy making preparations for the big day with our official BAFTA gift partner friends including Anya Hindmarch, Asprey, Hackett, Taittinger and many more. This year our warm and sensual Fireside Candle & Snuffer has been selected to feature in each and every VIP gift bag on the night. Fireside candles will also be lit in The Savoy Style Suites where some of the biggest stars of the silver screen will be getting preened and prepared to take their seats, enveloped in the gently spicy aromas of Noble Isle.

CHRISTMAS TIME

As the count-down to Christmas begins it is time to enjoy our time honoured British festive traditions; Christmas lights, the smell of fresh pine, children writing letters to Santa Clause, stockings hung on mantel pieces, Christmas crackers, mulled wine sipped and families gather around the television at 3pm for The Royal Christmas Broadcast.

WINTER SETS IN AT NOBLE ISLE

The autumn leaves are falling, the rain is pouring and it is once again the perfect time of year to wallow in a hot bath to warm your soul as the winter draws near. Having a collection of Noble Isle Bath & Shower Gels by your bath tub are the perfect bathroom accessory. Light a Fireside Candle, just drop a few pumps of our sensual Fireside Bath and Shower Gel under running water and in no time at all your bathroom will be filled with the fine fragrance of grapefruit, pink pepper, ginger and vanilla. If you really want the scent to linger then massage in a few pumps of our quickly absorbing Fireside Body Lotion, that will nourish your skin, cocooning you from the cold.

AUTUMN SETS IN AT NOBLE ISLE

Can you believe it is that time of year again…..kids back to school, leaves turning orange, cold misty mornings and of course, the beginning of the run up to Christmas? Christmas comes along so quickly, so best to try and be as prepared and organised as possible in order to enjoy it.

EXTRACTS FROM THE GREAT BRITISH HARVEST

In Britain we have been giving thanks for successful harvests since pagan times. The Harvest Festival is traditionally held at the end of September on the Sunday of the Harvest Moon and is a time to celebrate the food grown in our green and pleasant land.

A NEW DIRECTION FOR OUR MONARCHY

On Monday 22nd July 2013 at 4.24pm this Noble Island of ours celebrated the birth of a new noble baby, our future King George. We congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their birth of their son. This baby heralds a new direction for our monarchy. A new law was passed earlier this year which ended succession to the Crown based on gender. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first child would have become monarch, regardless of whether it was a boy or a girl. We love new traditions at Noble Isle and we commend the Royal family on moving with the times.

CELEBRATING GREAT BRITISH TRADITIONS

At Noble Isle we love to celebrate the great British tradition that is Wimbledon; the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. Sadly, no British woman has won the ladies’ singles since Virginia Wade did so in 1977 and no British man has won the men’s singles since Fred Perry sealed a hat-trick of titles in 1936. Andy Murray together with Laura Robson will carry the weight of the nation on their shoulders this year as they make their bid for the trophy. We will be behind them all the way! This year we have teamed up with Evian and The All England Club to provide products for VIP goodie bags to be delivered to all the glamorous guests that pass through the Evian exclusive suite at this year’s championships. Strawberries haven’t quite made it into our products yet but Yorkshire Rhubarb, Gloucestershire Pears, Perthshire Honey and Cornish Gooseberries have!

FATHERS DAY GIFTS – FOR THE MAN THAT HAS EVERYTHING……….

Father’s Day was inaugurated in the United States in the early 20th century to complement Mother’s Day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. In the UK it falls on the third Sunday in June and at Noble Isle we have some exquisite grooming gifts perfect for deserving Daddies.

CELEBRATING OUR FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY THIS MAY

In May 2012, we launched Noble Isle, The New Tradition in luxury bathing and what a glorious year it has been. You can imagine our delight when soon after our press launch at The Langham Hotel our first piece of press coverage appeared in Vogue in an article celebrating the best British beauty brands. The year of the Jubilee was certainly a great year to launch such a quintessentially British brand. Our first exclusive retail partner was The Queen’s grocer, Fortnum & Mason, followed by Liberty, Fenwick and most recently eight Barneys stores throughout the USA.

THE HARDY FIRST FLOWERS OF SPRING

You wouldn’t know it from the grey cold weather that we are experiencing, but British summer time is upon us. The clocks will move forward by one hour on the last Sunday of March, the days will stay lighter longer and the summer will begin to rise…. we hope anyway.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, LOVE NOBLE ISLE

Mothering Sunday falls on the 10th of March 2013. Most historians believe that Mothering Sunday evolved from the 16th-century Christian practice of visiting one’s mother church annually on Laetare Sunday. As a result of this tradition, most mothers were reunited with their children on this day, when young apprentices and young women in service were released by their masters for that weekend. As a result of the influence of the American Mother’s Day, Mothering Sunday transformed into the tradition of showing appreciation to one’s mother. During World War II US soldiers brought the US Mother’s Day celebration to the UK and the holiday was merged with the Mothering Sunday traditions still celebrated in the Church of England.

AS SEEN IN YOU MAGAZINE IN THE DAILY MAIL ON SUNDAY, WRITTEN BY BEAUTY EDITOR, SARAH BARCLAY

You may have seen our Rhubarb Rhubarb! Hand Wash in YOU Magazine in The Mail on Sunday over the weekend. We were thrilled to see that Beauty Editor, Sarah Barclay, included us in her round-up of Brit Hits, celebrating home grown beauty treats and kindly describing us as “The delicious, desirable and beautifully packaged Noble Isle”. We couldn’t agree more!

A NIGHT OF PURE HEAVEN…… CHOCOLATE AND MASSAGES

In December, we partnered with Britain’s Best Chocolatier, William Curley, to host an exclusive Christmas shopping and pamper evening in his Belgravia boutique. The guests of honour were members of the ACA, the Association of Celebrity Assistants, who were lavished with Noble Isle hand massages whilst sampling couture chocolates.

NOBLE ISLE IN WIDE-ANGLE

At Noble Isle, we pride ourselves on searching out the brightest talent to make up our creative team, which is why we entrusted our imagery to the sharp eye of photographer Bob Berry, who lives in the western reaches of Cornwall.

THE LOST GARDENS OF HELIGAN

It may have been pouring with rain but that wasn’t going to stop me from visiting one of our provenance suppliers, The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall.

NOBLE ISLE CONGRATULATES THE OLYMPIANS AND PARALYMPIANS

The Paralympic flame may have been extinguished but at Noble Isle we are still revelling in London 2012’s unparalleled success. To congratulate our gold medal winning Olympians and Paralympians we sent them all a selection of sumptuous products from our collection. We found out which part of the UK they hailed from and selected Noble Isle products containing natural extracts sourced in or around their home areas.

OUR FRAGRANCES

Great fragrances are glamorous, sensual, elegant and enchanting. They awaken special memories and inspire our daydreams. This highly specialised area is without doubt, a key pillar of our products, be it our Shower Gels, Hand Lotions, Shampoos or Candles.

TRAVELLING TALES FROM IRELAND

I absolutely love coming to Ireland. The people have this wonderful way of calling you ‘love’ but it not seeming unusual but warm, friendly and welcoming, especially when you travel to the small fishing villages along the South West Coast of Ireland, where Noble Isle sources extracts of Samphire and Sea Oak for “Sea of Green” Hand Wash and Lotion, in Roaringwater Bay. I could spend all day enjoying fresh mussels and listening to tales of the Irish through live music by the local musicians that just happen to pop by throughout the day creating an atmosphere that is unmatched. But alas, I must head back into the city and get to work because I am here for a reason…..Noble Isle has launched on the Emerald Isle!

WIN THE SEA OF GREEN, ROARINGWATER BAY COLLECTION

Enter our September competition for the opportunity to take home our Sea of Green Hand and Hand Lotion. Find the answers on our bespoke interactive map of the British Isles that has been created to unfold the story of our extracts provenance.

INTRODUCING SEA OAK

The sea oak that finds its way from the Roaringwater Bay Mussel Farm of west Cork into Noble Isle’s Sea of Green Hand Wash and Lotion is an unassuming but intriguing plant. This leathery brown algae is one of the most common forms of seaweed in the British Isles, its branched fronds with their characteristic air bubbles are familiar to anyone who has visited the coast.

NOBLE ISLE AND OMEGA HOUSE

Over the last 3 weeks OMEGA, the official time keepers of the London Olympic Games 2012, made the charming House of St. Barnabus in Soho their home, transforming it into OMEGA House, London’s most luxurious and exclusive members club during the games. OMEGA House hosted a stream of glamorous parties and cultural events with top DJ’s, VIP’s and fascinating guest speakers including, moonwalker Buzz Aldrin.

BRITAIN IN A BOTTLE…

Our bespoke interactive map of the Great British Isles has been created to unfold the story of our extracts provenance. Every one of our bottles has a story to tell, simply click on a fragrance collection to discover more about our extracts and the people behind them.

IN PRAISE OF HEATHER HONEY

Noble Isle is used to travelling the length and breadth of the British Isles to secure the finest ingredients, and the peerless heather honey from the inhospitable highlands of Perthshire and Deeside is no exception. For a brief spell every autumn, the region’s bee-keepers relocate their hives to the ‘fragrant hills of purple heather’, as they are described in the celebrated poem Bonnie Auld Scotland. Since there is no other food source at this altitude or time of year, the result is a pure, distinctive and absolutely unique honey packed with iron, protein and anti-oxidants.

THE BALVENIE MASTER AWARDS 2012

We were honoured to attend The Balvenie Masters of Craft Awards 2012 at The Savoy Hotel, hosted by David Stewart, The Balvenie Malt Master. We were taken on a magical journey of discovery across the UK to celebrate the very best of British craftsmanship and meet some of the greatest textile, glass, metal, leather, food, wood, stone and whisky makers in the country. Kevin McCloud of Grand Designs helped present the awards and paid homage to time honoured traditions and the great talent present in the room.
